Welcome to the Wardlaw School, a program of the Atlanta Speech School. We are grateful for your interest and the opportunity to get to know you and your family! Applications for the upcoming 2024-25 school year are now available for Kindergarten and 1st grade. At this time, admissions is closed for all other grades.
We invite you to visit us and learn more about the Wardlaw School. Our mission is to create an optimal learning environment for children who are struggling academically due to dyslexia and the associated language weaknesses. Our faculty is comprised of highly trained educators, all of whom hold at least a master's degree in fields such as Learning Disabilities, Speech-Language Pathology or Reading. Tours will begin at the end of September and are scheduled on a weekly basis until mid-March. New dates will be added monthly.
Our application process is designed to ensure that the Wardlaw School provides the most appropriate academic program for the children that we enroll. Our students, ages 5 through 12, exhibit average to superior intelligence and have been diagnosed with dyslexia and associated weaknesses. The Wardlaw School is not a program designed for children on the autism spectrum, those who have social-pragmatic language disorders, or significant attention or behavioral regulation weaknesses that may prevent the student from fully accessing the short-term curriculum paradigm.
During our admissions season, we screen students as openings for the following school year become available. Screenings may begin as early as October, but generally occur in January and February. Please do not hesitate to contact Wardlaw Admissions at 404-233-5332 if you have questions.
Admissions Decisions
All completed applications will be carefully considered. The Admissions Committee will conduct a comprehensive review of all documents and reports pertaining to your child to determine the next steps in the admissions process. If it is determined that the Wardlaw School can meet your student's needs and there is availability in the cohort that your child is applying, you will be contacted to schedule a screening for your student. If it determined that the Wardlaw School cannot effectively meet your child's needs or there is no availablity, we will let you know of our decision. Admissions decisions are made individually, based on our program's ability to meet your child's needs and classroom availability.
Thank you for considering the Wardlaw School. We look forward to getting to know your child!
