Admissions Online

Welcome to Atlanta Speech School-Anne & Jim Kenan Preschool. We are so grateful for your interest! We are currently accepting applications for all age levels, Twos, Threes, Pre-K, and Young Fives Kindergarten. This admissions cycle will be for students wishing to enter school in August 2024.

Our first admissions deadline was Dec. 31, 2023, and we have now moved into our “rolling admissions” phase, which means we will continue processing new applications as they come in and until classes are full. Those applying by the earlier deadline will have priority, but it’s likely we will still have room in some age levels, especially for the Twos classes, so we encourage you to apply today!

If you begin an application now through February 1, 2024, our goal is to finish processing your application and get you an admissions decision by March 1, 2024. We encourage you to apply today!

Spaces Available:

Each admissions season, we admit the largest number of new students in our entry level, which is the Twos Class. Because most children stay with us for the full program, we don't have as many spaces opening up for the Threes, Pre-K, and Young Fives Kindergarten, but we always have some new spaces in those age levels becoming available, too. We encourage you to talk with us about your child.

For questions, don't hesitate to contact Robert Spiotta, Kenan Coordinator for Admissions

How to Apply:

Applying is easy using our Online Application. You are currently in the online process for the Anne & Jim Kenan Preschool.

If you are unsure of which of our three Atlanta Speech School preschool program would best fit your child's needs and learning profile (e.g., Kenan, Hamm Center, or Stepping Stones), please reach out (before applying) to the Kenan Coordinator for Admissions, Robert Spiotta. Kenan is designed for typically-developing learners, the Hamm Center serves deaf and hard-of-hearing children, and Stepping Stones serves children with speech delays. If your child has a diagnosed speech delay, it usually makes sense to first contact Stepping Stones before applying to Kenan.

Create an Online Application:

To apply to Kenan, first Create an Account. Then, log into your new account and Create A New Student Application for your child. You will then have the flexibility to log in and out of your account and access your open application. Once you create an account and complete your first child's application, you will be able to add applications for additional children.

After submitting the application, you can track your admissions status online by logging in to your account. You can also print the completed application(s).

Parts of an application:

1. Online application, completed by parent

2. Teacher Questionnaire sent to current homeroom teacher to complete

3. Attach any relevant testing in the online application, if applicable, such as speech-language evaluations, etc.

5. Pay $ 75 application fee (will be billed to you later in the process, after you submit online)

6. After applying online, we will send you instructions for completing some home videos of your child doing different activities, which you will email back to us for review.

5. For Pre-K and Kindergarten applications, we will email you an appointment for an in-person observation at Kenan.

6. For Twos and Threes applicants, if we need more information, we will also sometimes invite your child for a small-group or individual observation.

We Look Forward to Reviewing Your Child's Application!

We appreciate your interest and hope to assist you any way we can. If you have other questions, please feel free to contact us at Kenan. For fastest response, email our Kenan Coordinator for Admissions, Robert Spiotta. You can also call direct at 404-333-0292.
